Reason #61: Parallels of Story of Prophet Adam in Surah Ar-Rahman

The story of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) is a well-known story in the Qur’an. Different parts are mentioned in different Surahs of the Qur’an to highlight different points, as well as to serve as a reminder. What’s interesting is that Surah Ar-Rahman, the 55th Surah, is one of the most popular and unique Surahs there is. However, the story or Prophet Adam’s name is not mentioned once directly. However, if you look deeper, you will see several references to it done in such a clever way.

Mentions of Prophet Adam ElsewhereSurah Ar-Rahman
We said, “Go down from it, all of you. Yet whenever guidance comes to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance -they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve. [Al-Baqarah 2:38]The Most Compassionate. Taught the Qur’an [55:1-2]

If you can penetrate beyond the realms of the heavens and the earth, then do so. ˹But˺ you cannot do that without ˹Our˺ authority. [55:33]

Reason #55: All the reasons people accept Islam

When you talk to people who converted to Islam, you may be shocked to get a wide range of reasons. Some converted because the concept of the Oneness of God makes sense. Some converted because of the scientific miracles in the Quran. Some because of the character and success of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Some because they researched all the religions and Islam made the most sense.

Those are common ones, but there are many more that deserve their own discussions:

A person might have converted because of how loving and caring her Muslim friends are.

Another might have heard the Adhan or call to prayer in a Muslim country and wondered why it’s so beautiful.

Another had a moment in life where she said “God, if you exist, get me out of this rut and I will look for the right religion,” and surely enough, a miracle happened!

Another found this unexplainable peace as soon as he accepted Islam.

The beauty is, according to Muslims, God has a plan for every single one of us and He wants everyone to find the truth. Thus, He showers us with proofs of His Existence everywhere. It’s just up to us if we want to look.

He also knows what reason will be just THE reason people need to open their eyes. Those that actually do, they can’t help but accept.
